Los Angeles is cracking down on dispensaries. Will Vegas face a similar fate?

Reading the LA Times, I came across this article about dispensaries in Los Angeles.
Back in June a new Medical Marijuana Ordinance went into effect which forced many shops to close up. The only dispensaries that were allowed to remain open were the 169 that registered and applied to remain open before the ordinance was enforced.
Now, after a two month dispensary review, only 41 shops were deemed worthy (met ordinance requirements) by the city clerk to remain open. The new ordinance will begin to enforce a cap of 70 dispensaries that must conform to the restrictions.
70 shops compared to an estimated 400+ shops that were open before the ordinance went into effect. That is quite a difference.
I am looking into all the specifics of the ordinance (curious), but I see this as a good thing.
Weed (pun intended) out the bad ones and keep the legit/clean ones = a better service/product for LA patients.
What do you think?
