Today at the Bluebird Coffee Shop

A meeting of the minds took place, a group of both caregivers and patients discussing the recent raids on local clinics. The general atmosphere was quite intense despite the cool and relaxed environment. The discussion initially was meant to provide information to local card holders about local law and how to stay legal. The conversation took a turn as caregivers discussed the unfairness of the raids and how it has crippled a means of life. My heart weeps for both parties as it seems none can catch a break. We live in interesting times of radical change, I consider this an awkward transitional period chock full of growing pains.

On a lighter note, my time was spent predominantly lounging in the cafe area meant for non card holders providing support for patients, who would be picking up their medication behind the locked door meant for cardholders only.

I ordered a coffee and quietly took a seat at one of the quirky tables with a checker board pattern on it. As I finished my coffee I was offered a free refill by the staff on a few occasions. Mind you this is while the shop is packed to capacity with a camera crew and local supporters.
